Description Dura Ace was the first Shimano road groupset to use Hollowtech II technology. By moving the bottom bracket bearings outside of the bottom bracket shell, Shimano were able to increase the stiffness in several ways: by spacing the bearings further apart, by increasing the size of the axle and finally by integrating the axle into the crank. The bottom bracket bearings for the HollowTech II FC-7900 crankset, which is he ultimate crankset for stiffness whilst keeping weight low for performance riding and racing.
